WORLD GAME PROTECTION CONFERENCE

2007 WGPC
dates to be
announced soon.

March 2006

A "Full House" at WGPC 1.

What can I say? Thank you.

To say I'm suffering from a hangover from WGPC 1 is a bit of an understatement. To be in the same company as some of the best in our business, with over 220 casino professionals coming from 12 countries around the world and 23 states across the U.S, can be more than a little intoxicating.

There were many WGPC highlights for me. Starting with the Welcome Reception where we got to meet so many of our leading authorities through to the crowning of a little known Surveillance Manager from Seven Feathers Casino in Oregon as the winner of the WGPC Challenge. Alicia Barney smoked the opposition by counting down a deck of cards in a time of 11.18 seconds! I don't know how they train them up at Seven Feathers but I'm sure more than a few casinos out there would love to know how to train their dealers to deal a deck of cards in 11.18 seconds!

Probably the greatest highlight for me and a lot of our attendees was the conference program itself. There were so many interesting speakers gathered in one place to share their casino war stories. Because so many attendees have commented on this fact I've decided to make it our WGPC motto. "We're not the biggest show in town, but we think we're the most interesting."

I would like to give a big shout out to all the speakers that "gave it up", to our conference sponsors North American Video, Honeywell, Nice Systems and to all of the exhibitors who came with their latest technology for helping us keep the game honest.

Finally, my sincere thanks to the attendees whose support for the show made it all possible. We are already planning WGPC 2 and hope to announce the dates in the next Catwalk. Your feedback has been great and we are working on some ideas that you have passed on to make the show even better and more interesting next year.

Several have e-mailed me since the show asking for more information on the training and consulting services offered by some of our guest speakers. If you are interested and want more information about any of our speakers, give me a call on 702 407 9900 or e-mail me at

Our featured article this month looks at the constant threat of counterfeit chips, including an experience I had a few years ago involving a scam that cost my house over $400,000.
