WGPC EXCLUSIVE: "THE WORLD'S GREATEST CHEAT" RICHARD MARCUS SPEAKS

All Stars in town for WGPC

Las Vegas AllstarsThe second World Game Protection Conference tips off next week. This year the WGPC will be held at the beautiful Bellagio in Las Vegas, the back drop for the much anticipated movie to be released this summer, Oceans 13. Like the movie, the WGPC brings together some of the best in the business together for one purpose. 21 presenters, the industry's leading vendors and products and casino professionals from around the world, together all in Las Vegas for 2 days (and 2 nights).

WGPC2 continues the commitment to bring casino professionals "actionable intelligence" by calling on experts to share their unique knowledge and perspectives. This is and always will be the basic foundation of the WGPC. But this year the WGPC has added a couple of new attractions to enhance the overall experience.

Back of house tours of the Bellagio surveillance room will be conducted on Wednesday February 7. Conference Attendees will get to see behind the scenes of a Las Vegas surveillance room (No, Andy Garcia will not be in the room).

The 2007 WGPC BJ Challenge will be held at the Welcome Reception in the Monet Patio. This year promises to be a hum dinger with 12 fired up card counting connoisseurs already signed up for the chance to take home the Challenge trophy. 11.18 seconds is the time to beat and the word is out that records will be shattered this year.

The addition of "The Square" will give attendees the opportunity to network amongst peers and see the best and new products for 2007. The exhibition area has tripled (yes tripled) from last year and the WGPC team is very proud to have the leading players in our industry exhibit and show their new stuff. Breakfast and lunch is included on both days and the lunch break has been extended to 2 hours each day to give every one time to check it all out.

After Day 1 of the conference, WGPC's platinum sponsor, North American Video, is sponsoring a "Happy Hour" in the Square. A little time to unwind from the conference program and another opportunity to network with the best in the business.

All in all, WGPC2 promises to be bigger than last year. I'm looking forward to catching up with old friends and those who are joining us for the first time to learn more about the interesting world of casino game protection.

This month's featured article was written by Ian J. Napier from Casinos Austria International. Ian offers some insight into managing procedures and training programs for a casino organization.

Note: This editorial was not paid for by the organizers of the World Game Protection Conference. (OK, yes it was, but not very much)

- Enjoy the game
