Detective Sergeant Joshua Donohue began his career as a New Jersey State Trooper in 2012. After five years on patrol, he took a position with the agency’s Casino Gaming Bureau, based in Atlantic City, NJ. The NJSP’s Casino Gaming Bureau is tasked with investigating all crimes committed on the casino floor or involving the gaming industry. In this capacity, Detective Sergeant Donohue investigated and supervised investigations involving cheating, fraud, theft, counterfeiting, prostitution and weapons offenses.
Additionally, Detective Sergeant Donohue serves as the Bureau’s Active Shooter training coordinator. He has also served as an instructor for Atlantic County’s Crisis Response Team, which trains law enforcement and Casino Security how to better handle people suffering from mental illness. Prior to his career in law enforcement, DSG Donohue was an attorney. He practiced law in the State of New Jersey for five years.

The Briefing Room is a new moderated round table session featuring representatives from gaming enforcement divisions across various jurisdictions. Each participant will be asked to give a short 15-minute presentation on gaming crime prosecutions, trends in their jurisdictions and general BOLO information.
